Chasing Fall at Mile High Swinging Bridge

Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina

What started as a simple trip to photograph fall foliage didn’t quite work out the way I planned. We were too early for true fall colors. The trees were still mostly green with some yellows and oranges peppered in. At the first location at Grandfather mountain, I discovered I had left my camera memory cards at the hotel. Luckily, CVS was about 15 minutes down the road. The fog rolled in way too thick to really photograph the mountains and all the overlooks were a bit too wet to climb. The hike to the overlooks felt like we were walking through a Grimm Brothers Fairytale and my photographs reflect that. I’ll have to keep chasing fall.
